This course aims to:
- Equip teachers with a fantastic collection of teaching strategies that can be effectively used as lessons require.
- Detail all aspects of the cooperative learning strategy as it applies to teaching and learning.
- Explore and appraise the potential for cooperative learning and related active/interactive strategies to improve the quality of the learning experience and learning outcomes when used more often and more widely.
- Arrange cooperative learning activities that reflect various intelligences and preferred learning styles.
- Itemise the three tier approach to differentiation and utilise it in scoping and planning content & activities.
- Review and appraise multiple intelligences with a view to better catering to and including the learning preferences of all within group activities.
- Equip teachers with the cooperative problem solving approach to mathematics, to include best principles and procedural steps.
- Detail the benefits of children participating in interactive Web Quests and to how to plan, structure and use ‘Web Quests’ within a cooperative learning structure.
- Look at, review and score one’s own ‘Teacher Practice in Literacy’ as part of the SSE process.
